Indoor sessions don’t have to be boring… they can still capture your family’s intimacy and emotion. All of Jessica’s sessions capture the fun, silly, and loving relationships in your family, and indoor studio sessions are no different.

Whether your family is cuddling on the bed or snuggling on the couch, we will make those real smiles and giggles last forever!

This was one of my favorite sessions last year with a family of boys who love to giggle and tickle. It was so much fun, and so easy! I think that every one of us had a great time during this shoot!

You don’t need to look at the camera and say ‘cheese’ for a perfect family portrait.

Shelly was one of the very first friends I met when we moved to McHenry County. At a MOPS group we shared pregnancy and delivery stories, and a genuine friendship was formed. In addition to playdates and wine nights, I have been privileged to capture their family every year. 

This year we were able to add her sister’s family and mom to our annual session. I’ve heard so much about them for so many years that they already felt like friends as well!

I love that, even though these cousins live states away from each other, they are so incredibly close. It’s an amazing testament to how hard their families work to have a close bond despite the miles.

This family certainly gave their Nana an incredible gift…. memories to cherish for years to come!

There is something so precious and intimate about getting to experience some of the first days of a newborn’s life. This little one, while only a few weeks old, has already experienced so many blessings.

From the perfect timing of her birth, to her much hoped for perfect size, to her very special name, Susanna Faith; her little life is already a testament to the Father’s goodness.

She was welcomed home to her big sisters and big brother who already love her deeply. This little miracle will never want for playmates or protectors!

But her journey isn’t over. Her family will be relocating to Nepal in the fall to start a new adventure- and I have no doubt they will continue to experience more blessings to come!

I always take the weather forecast with a grain of salt. If you’ll notice on your contract, it always says “Location and time will be finalized the week of your shoot”. Sometimes it’s actually HOURS before your shoot. In this corner of the world, our weather can change in an instant- and this amazing family shoot was no different.

Despite the gloomy forecast and potential rain, at the last minute we decided to go for it. And, gratefully, we had the most amazing shoot. The clouds gave us soft reflection and shielded us from harsh shadows, and the lush grasses and budding trees were the perfect backdrop for this sweet family of three.

We skipped through the meadow and journeyed through the wildflowers in the woods, ending the shoot with an airplane ride and a snuggle on the big family quilt.

I’ve certainly had my share of rained out shoots, but I always say that everything happens for a reason. Whether its rain clouds or sunshine, I’m grateful for them all!
